Day One
…longing for Home
yet keenly aware of the purposefulness
of being right where I am,
right at this moment…..
This is a beautiful,
very real paradox
for the follower of Jesus.
If I’m current with God, open handed with the people and things in my little existence, then I live today as if it’s day one…….all is new, all is fresh. God extends mercy and grace to me and I am called to pass that on to those I encounter.
I also live today as if there is no tomorrow, looking for the return of Jesus, knowing it is immanent. How do I want the final day to transpire? What matters in the grand scheme? What will burn? What matters to God?
Today is a gift. God is present in it.
