The Impossible Love List

A Conference by Anne Barbour

A new commandment I give to you,
that you love one another:
just as I have loved you,
you also are to love one another.
~ John 13:34 ~

What are the characteristics of the love we are commanded to offer friend and enemy alike? 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 describes fifteen traits, using a mere 55 words to reveal a vast treasure that will transform our understanding of what it truly means to love. This 5 session conference walks slowly through this passage as well as taking time to “zoom out” and examine some of the reasons why love MUST characterize a true child of God. It also explores the full spectrum of love which encompasses not only Agape, but Eros, Philos and Storge as well.

God commanded His chosen people to love Him with their heart, soul and might, and to love their neighbors as themselves. Jesus came and significantly pushed out the sides of that command. He commanded His disciples to love as He loved. In vivid contrast to the way humans love when left to our own impulses and convictions, Jesus’ selfless love was revolutionary. Do you have a desire to be able to love God more deeply and to love those in your life in a way that better reflects Jesus? Are you interested in loving in a way you never thought was possible? I’m inviting you to immerse yourself in The Impossible Love List.
